CHALLENGE:

To produce a stylized set of images for a US brochure of the 2006 Lexus IS. Specific angles were needed to show movement through semi- transparent vellum paper within the brochure. In addition, the car changed color progressively from silver to black during this movement. The agency realized early on that cgi was the only cost effective way to accomplish these results.

SOLUTION:

Using pre-existing 3D data from the IS shoot around done by Ignition Digital Images, we worked closely with the agency’s creative team to build a series of appropriate images to achieve the client’s goals. In addition to the progressive effect for the interior of the brochure, we also created a high impact image for the cover of the brochure.

HOW WE DID IT:

Progressive color shifting was executed using a combination of lighting and shader manipulation. Finessing of the effect was done by Ignition’s retouch team. Careful attention was given to the density of the image to translate onto the specialized vellum paper.
